Spartan Fighting Vehicle Course

Spartan Fighting Vehicle Course is designed to give the student with full understanding of proper rifle/pistol fundamentals with prior formal training the understanding of real ballistic demos with different style ammunition to show ballistic deflection, penetration, deformation in various areas on the vehicle.  Students will be shown how to employ their weapons systems into, out of, around, over, and under vehicle(s) to include windshields, windows (tinted, non-tinted) in real-world situations that have occurred throughout history.

Spartan Rifle/Pistol Course or Similar Courses.

  • Safety/Medical Brief
  • Gear selection and placement (Does it work for you or just look cool) 
  • Safety specifies to working around vehicle(s)
  • Two-man evac with pistol/rifle
  • Four-man evac with pistol/rifle
  • Accuracy/Acceptable accuracy drills
  • Proper Loading/Unloading drills 
  • Tactical reload/Speed reload drills around a vehicle 
  • Scanning your area drills 
  • Malfunction drills around a vehicle 
  • Target/Threat identification drills
  • Multiple shooting positions around a vehicle
  • Concealment/Cover positions around a vehicle
  • Rifle-to-pistol/pistol-to-rifle transitions around a vehicle
  • Shooting/Moving drills around others
  • Two-man and/or Four-man bounding drills to other vehicle(s)  


GEAR LIST


Students provide their own ammo: 600-700 rifle rounds minimum and 600-700 pistol rounds minimum.  Instructors can modify the drills to accommodate a lower round count.  

Firearms – A functional rifle chambered in 5.56×45, 5.45×39, 7.62×39, 300 Blackout. A functional handgun chambered in .380, 9mm, .40 cal, .357 sig, or .45 ACP.  A secondary spare weapon system(s) is highly encouraged but not mandatory. A cleaning kit and proper tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s) the shooter has is also a must. Each student should have a minimum of 3-5 working magazines for each weapon system(s).  Students can take the entire course with just a pistol or rifle, but a combination of both is encouraged.  

  • Notepad, and pen/pencil
  • Attire suited for outdoor activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
  • Long sleeve shirts are encouraged to have on hand
  • Athletic footwear for outdoor training (No sandals, slip-ons, or open toe shoes)
  • Rain gear / cold weather gear (seasonal)
  • Ear pro (electronic preferred) / Eye pro/ Prescription glasses are acceptable
  • Baseball style hat (recommended)
  • Sunblock/bug spray (seasonal)
  • Tools that work on your weapon(s)
  • A holster and magazine pouch that will properly retain equipment (Chest rigs, outer carriers, battle belts are not mandatory) Do not go out and buy these items just for this course. 
  • Weapons lube
  • Water hydrating device/Snacks
  • Knee and elbow pads (optional)
  • Gloves (Not mandatory, but highly encouraged)
  • An open mind “HAVE FUN”
